Instructions:

  1. In a large pot, bring the water to a boil over medium heat.

  2. Once the water is boiling, reduce the heat to low and gently crack the eggs into the pot. Use a spoon to create a whirlpool in the water, which will help the eggs cook evenly.

  3. Let the eggs cook for about 3-4 minutes until they are set but still soft. You can check by gently poking the eggs with a spoon. If they are too firm, they may be overcooked.

  4. While the eggs are cooking, heat the milk in a separate small saucepan over low heat until it is warm but not hot. Do not let it boil.

  5. Once the eggs are cooked to your liking, use a slotted spoon to transfer them from the pot to a bowl. Keep the water in the pot boiling.

  6. Add the warm milk to the pot and stir well. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

  7. Return the eggs to the pot and stir gently to combine. If desired, add a tablespoon of butter and stir until melted.

  8. Serve immediately while still hot. Enjoy!
